281Regular Meeting Second contribution for National Defense Student Loan Fund received the National Defense Student Loan Fund at the University. Under terms of the agreement signed earlier, the University is required to place in the fund an amount equal to at least one-ninth of the federal contribution. In March, 91959, the sum of $10,581 was received from the Office of Education and and $1,176 was allocated by the Board of Regents from the Carl Herman Larson bequest, both of these amounts being credited to the National Defense Student Loan Fund. The original bequest from Mr. Larson was in the amount of $14,564.48 and was granted to the University of Nebraska without restriction. | 281 |
