279Regular Meeting the visiting scholar shall be given an appointment as research associate and, as such, shall be governed by the rules and regulations of the Board of Regents which are applicable to the members of the academic and administration staff. It was moved by Regent Adkins, seconded by Regent Foote, motion put to vote and carried, that the request of the Dean of the Graduate College, together with the accompanying stipulations, be approved. Waive In Absentia fee for John W. Dirksen From the faculty of the College of Pharmacy comes the request that John W. Dirksen be granted a Bachelor of Science degree in absentia because of religious belief and that the in absentia fee be waived. It was moved by Regent Greenberg, seconded by Regent Welsh, motion put to vote and carried, that the request of the faculty of the College of Pharmacy be approved. Approve three-week leave of absence for certain Agr. Extension Service staff From the Director of the Agricultural Extension Service comes a request that the three-week leaves of absence for study be granted to twenty-two staff members in the Agricultural Extension Service. Each leave carries with it a scholarship in the amount of $100.00 made available as follows: 15 scholarships provided by Aksarben; 4 scholarships provided by Farm Foundation and 3 scholarships by Horace A.
