216Special Meeting Training Grants $64,400 from National Science Foundaton for NSF Summer Science Institute under the direction of W. E. Militzer, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. (Continuation) $17,000 from U. S. Public Health Service for Graduate Training Grant under the direction of Dr. F. L. Dunn of the College of Medicine. (Continuation) It was moved by Regent Elliott, seconded by Regent Welsh, motion put to vote and carried, directing the president and corporation secretary of the Board of Regents shall be authorized to sign in behalf of the Board, Contract No. Nonr-2759 (00) with the Office of Naval Research wherein $3,500 is made available to the College of Medicine for medical education for national disaster. It was moved by Regent Elliott, seconded by Regent Welsh, motion put to vote and carried, directing that the president and corporation secretary of the Board of Regents shall be authorized to sign in behalf of the Board, Contract No. DA-49-007-MD-1017 with the Department of the Army, Office of the Surgeon General, wherein $2,878 is made available for research to be directed by Dr. R. M. Knapp of the College of Dentistry, research in the field of "Comparison of Routine Roentgenographic Evidence with Histologic Evidence of Caries." From the Chancellor's office comes the suggestion that some form of recognition be prepared to be provided to those persons who worked in connection with the campaign for funds for the Nebraska Center for Continuing Education, it being clearly understood that many friends of the University gave unstintingly of their time and energy over a period of several months on this campaign. It was moved by Regent Swanson, seconded by Regent Foote, that a suitable resolution or other form of recognition be prepared for presentation to all workers who engaged in the campaign for funds for the Nebraska Center for Continuing Education.
