Retirement Approved

It was moved by Regent Swanson, seconded by Regent Greenberg, motion put to vote and carried, that the following retirement be approved as recommended by the Chancellor's office.

RETIREMENT

Frank L. Duley, Professor of Agronomy Emeritus, effective December 1, 1958; retiring on Civil Service.

James R. McVey, Selleck Quadrangle employee, at $88.18 per year single life, effective December 1, 1958.

Deaths Reported

It was moved by Regent Foote, seconded by Regent Swanson, motion put to vote and carried, directing that the University payroll be corectly adjusted to reflect the death of the following persons:

Rodney W. Bliss, Professor Emeritus of Internal Medicine, September 5, 1958

J. M. Matzen Assistant Professor of School Administration Emeritus, November 10, 1958

A. R. Sharrah, retired Dairy Herdsman at North Platte Experiment Station, November 22, 1958.

Authorize transfer of money for Frank H. Woods Fellows.

It was moved by Regent Welsh, seconded by Regent Swanson, motion put to vote and carried, directing the secretary of the Board of Regents be authorized to request the University of Nebraska Foundation to transfer the sum of $7,500 held by the Foundation in the Frank H. Woods Fellowships to the University Comptroller for use in support of leaves of absence for faculty personnel as previously approved by the Board of Regents.

Discuss policy of naming University buildings

After some discussion in reference to the policy of naming University buildings after individuals and upon recommendation of the Chancellor, it was moved by Regent Greenberg, seconded by Regent Swanson, motion put to vote and carried, directing that a study be made by the Board of Regents Property Committee concerning the policy of naming University buildings in honor of University individuals and report back to the Board.

Authorize contract-Air Research and Development Command-Math Dept.

It was moved by Regent Greenberg, seconded by Regent Foote, motion put to vote and carried, directing the president and corporation secretary of the Board of Regents shall be authorized to sign in behalf of the Board, Contract AF 49(638)-506 with the Air Research and Development Command in support of research dircted by Professor L. K. Jackson, Dept. of Mathematics for which the sum of $5,754 is provided for research on "Boundary Value Problem for Certain Nonlinear Differential Equations."

Authorize contract with USPH Research by Dr. DonaldPace

It was moved by Regent Welsh, seconded by Regent Foote, motion put to vote and carried, directing the president and corporation secretary of the Board of Regents shall be authorized to sign in behalf of the Board, Contract SA-43-ph-2419 with the United States Public Health Service in support of research under the direction of Dr. Donald Pace,Professor of Physiology, wherein the sum of $28,126.00 is provided for research in the field of "Screening and Evaluating Compounds in Tissue Culture."

Preparation for Trust Agreement for aid in financing Center for Continuing Education

From the Chancellor's office comes the proposed Trust Agreement, approved as to form by Attorney General of the State of Nebraska, Mr. C. S. Beck, and approved as to form by Mr. Earl Cline, Attorney for the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska of revenue bonds under the provisions of Section 85-403 to 85-411, Revised Statutes of Nebraska, 1943. Under this Trust Agreement it is contemplated
