178Special Meeting Alliance, Nebraska The Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska met on this day for a special meeting at 10:00 o'clock a.m. at the Drake Hotel at Alliance, Nebraska. Regents present: Regents absent: University officials present: Minutes Approved The minutes of the proceedings of the Board at their meeting held October 11, 1958, were approved, copy of the same having been transmitted to the several members of the Board under its order of October 1, 1926. From the Chancellor's office come reports of resignations, leaves of absence, new appointments, adjustments in work and salary, retirement and deceased members of the staff. Money being available for those purposes from former apportionment by the Board, the following actions are taken. Resignations Approved It was moved by Regent Greenberg, seconded by Regent Elliott, motion put to vote and carried, that the following resignations be approved as recommended by the Chancellor's office. RESIGNATIONS Helen A. Rocke, Associate Extension Home Economist, effective December 31, 1958. Leaves of Absence Approved It was moved by Regent Foote, seconded by Regent Elliott, motion put to vote and carried, that the following leaves of absence be approved as recommended by the Chancellor's office. LEAVE OF ABSENCE L. K. Crowe, Professor of Dairy Husbandry, two-year leave of absence without pay, effective October 15, 1958 to October 15, 1960; to assist in establishment of Ataturk University at Erzurum, Turkey. New Appointments Approved It was moved by Regent Elliott, seconded by Regent Swanson, motion put to vote and carried, that the following new appointments be approved as recommended by the Chancellor's office. NEW APPOINTMENTS College of Agriculture Carol O. VanNordheim, Assistant County Home Extension Agent, at $3900 per year effective October 20, 1958. Richard Dam, Assistant Biochemist, at $6500 per year effective November 1, 1958 to expiration of grant: account 6304-1W, Public Health Service project.
