Training Grants

$25,000 from U. S. Public Heath Service for Cardiovascular Training Grant under the direction of Dr. F. L. Dunn of the College of Medicine.

$32,537 from U. S. Public Health Service for training grant in Clinical Psychology under the directon of Dr. Marshall R. Jones of the Department of Psychology.

Proposed Paving of 70th St.

From the Dean of the College of Agriculture, W. V. Lambert, comes information that Lancaster County desires to pave Adams Street from 70th Street to a point one mile east of 70th Street. The University is the owner of property on both sides of the proposed paved street. This pavement will be installed at no expense to the University but it is stated that the County will need between one and four feet of University property starting at a point at the 70th and Adams and extending east for a distance of 150 feet.

It was stated by Dean Lambert that this paving improvement is highly desirable and the right-of-way requested by Lancaster County will not interfere with the University program and therefore recommends the request of the county be granted.

Authorize county to pave street bordering Univ. property

It was moved by Regent Elliott, seconded by Regent Foote, motion put to vote and carried, directing that the president and corporation secretary of the Board of Regents shall be authorized to sign in behalf of the Board a contract with Lancaster County to enter upon land owned by the Board of Regents, being a part of Lot 8 of irregular tracts located in the SE1/4SE1/4 of Section 10, Township 10 North, Range 7 East, in Lancaster County, Nebraska, for the purpose of paving Adams Street from 70th Street to a point one mile east.

Request to install water main on 48th Street

From the office of the City of Lincoln Engineer comes a request for an Easement to permit the city to install a 24 inch water main and sanitary sewer along the west side of 48th Street in the general area between Holdrege Street and Leighton Avenue.

It was stated that the proposed sanitary sewer will aid in the general drainage in this area and that the installation of the water main will in no way damage the property of the University. It is recommended by the Business Manager, Mr. Carl A. Donaldson, that this request for easement be approved.

Authorize easement to city for installation of water main and sanitary sewer

It was moved by Regent Swanson, seconded by Regent Foote, motion put to vote and carried, directing that the president and corporation secretary of the Board of Regents shall be authorized to sign in behalf of the Boarde, an easement with the City of Lincoln permitting the city to install a 27-inch sanitary sewer and a 24-inch water main on the west side of 48th Street between Holdrege and Leighton Avenue on property owned by the Board of Regents and described as the southwest quarter of Section 17, Township 10 North,
