142Special Meeting Estate of Frances Sheldon, deceased sister of A. B. Sheldon, in constructing and equipping upon the downtown campus of the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, a gallery for the purpose of housing the collection of paintings, sculpture and other works of art owned by the University, the Nebraska Art Association and similar collections, and WHEREAS, The Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska has received from Olga N. Sheldon, Successor-Trustee under the Last Will and Testament of Frances Sheldon, Deceased, the property of the trust estate, and is making preparations for the construction and equipping upon the downtown campus of the University in Lincoln the said gallery provided for in the Last Will and Testament of Frances Sheldon, Deceased; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska that the Board accept, with sincere appreciation and gratitude, the generous and public-spirited gift and devise of A. B. Sheldon to The Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that The Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska hereby acknowledges that upon the receipt of the property of the Estate of A. B. Sheldon, Deceased, from the personal representative thereof, it will use the said property in accordance with the provisions of his Last Will and Testament and Codicils thereto and the Last Will and Testament of Frances Sheldon, Deceased. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this Resolution, certified by the Corporation Secretary or the Assistant Corporation Secretary of The Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska, be transmitted to Olga N. Sheldon, widow of A. B. Sheldon, deceased, Lexington, Nebraska, and to E. A. Cook, Jr., Attorney in the Matter of the Estate of A. B. Sheldon, Deceased, Lexington, Nebraska. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution certified by the Corporation Secretary or Assistant Corporation Secretary of The Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska, be transmitted to E. A. Cook, Jr., Attorney at Law, Lexington, Nebraska, for filing in the probate proceedings in the Matter of the Estate of A. B. Sheldon, Deceased, pending in the County Court of Dawson County, Nebraska. It was moved by Regent Greenberg, seconded by Regent Swanson, motion put to vote and carried, directing the following resolution in reference to the A. B. Sheldon estate be approved: John K. Selleck and Joseph Soshnik authorized to receive assets in behalf of University RESOLUTION WHEREAS, A. B. Sheldon, a resident of Lexington, Nebraska, died leaving a Last Will and Testament, under the provisions of which The Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska is a beneficiary, and WHEREAS, Olga N. Sheldon, as executrix of the Estate of A. B. Sheldon, deceased, contemplates obtaining an order from the court, having jurisdiction of said probate proceedings, to make a partial distribution of income of said estate, and WHEREAS, it is desired that The Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska designate a person or persons qualified to receive such distribution and to receipt therefor in behalf of The Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that upon the making of such distribution to The Board of Regents of the University of Nebrska from the income of said estate, that John K. Selleck, Corporation Secretary of The Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska, or Joseph Soshnik, Assistant Corporation Secretary of The Board of Regents of the University of Nebrska, be and either of them are hereby empowered and authorized to receive any distribution made by the Executrix of the Estate of A.
