June 14, 1958

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Comptroller of the University of Nebraska be authorized and directed to accept payment in full for the balance due upon said note, above described, and upon payment of such balance, including interest due thereon, in full, that the Comptroller be authorized and directed to cancel said note and mark the same "Paid", and deliver said note to thee makers thereof.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the President of the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska be authorized and directed, upon the payment of said note and interest in full, to execute and deliver to the makers of said note and mortgage releases thereof, and that the Assistant Corporation Secretary of the Board of Regents be authorized and directed to attest the execution of said releases, and attach thereto the corporation seal of the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska, a corporation.

Authorize supplement to U. S. Atomic Energy contract Dr. Pearlstein

It was moved by Regent Greenberg, seconded by Regent Welsh, motion put to vote and carried, that the president be authorized and directed to execute Spupplement No. 1 to Contract No. AT(11-1)-525 between the U. S. Atomic Energy Commission and the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska, to extend the term of the contract to May 31, 1959, and to provide additional funds in the amount of $16,965 for carrying on work under the contract as extended. This contract covers research of Dr. Pearlstein on "Studies of Imperfections in Solids."

Authorize supplementn to U. S. Atomic Energy Contract-Dr. Jorgenson

It was moved by Regent Welsh, seconded by Regent Greenberg, motion put to vote and carried, that the president be authorized and directed to execute Supplement No. 0 to Contract No.l AT(11-1)-35 between the U. S. Atomic Energy Commission and the Board of Regents of the University of Nebtraska, to extend the term of the contract to May 31, 1959, and to provide additional funds in the amount of $20,000 for carrying on work under the contract as extended. This contract covers research of Dr.Theodore Jorgensen on "Range Energy of Slow Ions."

Authorize supplement to U. S. Atomic Energy Contract - Dr. Gardener

It was moved by Regent Greenberg, seconded by Regent Welsh, motion put to vote and carried, that the president be authorized and directed to execute (11-1)-352 between the U. S. Atomic Energy Commission and the Board of regents of the University of Nebraska, to extend the term of the contract to April 30, 1959, and to provide additional funds in the amount of $8,000 for carryinng on work under the contract as extended. This contract covers research of Dr. C. O. Gardner on "Evaluation of Effects of Radiations on Quantitively Inherited Characters in Corn and Soybeans."

Authoirze Henry M. Grether to accept assignment from Railway Commission

It was moved by Regent Welsh, seconded by Regent Greenberg, motion put to vote and carried, that approval be given to the request of Prof. Henry M. Grether, Professor of Law, that he be permitted to accept an assignment from the Nebraska State Railway Commission to review the General Orders and Rules of Procedure of the Commission. It is understood that this work will not interfere with the regular duties of Prof. Grether at the University of Nebraska.

Authorize agreement with National Park Service for study and report on certain reservoirs in Nebraska

It was moved by Regent Greenberg, seconded by Regent Welsh, motion put to vote and carried, that the president and assistant corporation secretary be authorized and directed to execute a Memorandum of Agreement with the National Park Service of the Department of the Interior under which the National Park Service will pay to the University of Nebraska
