Special Meeting
September 30, 1957

North Platte, Nebraska
September 30, 1957

The Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska met
on this day for a special meeting at 3:00 P.M. in the Admin-
istration Building at the Agricultural Experiment Station at
North Platte.

Regents present:
B. N. Greenberg, President
C. Y. Thompson
Frank O. Foote
J. G. Elliott

Regents absent:
C. E. Swanson
J. L. Welsh

University officials present:
Messrs. Clifford M. Hardin, Chancellor
A. C. Breckenridge, Dean of Faculties
John K. Selleck, Corporation Secretary
Joseph Soshnik, Asst. Corporation Secretary

Minutes Approved
The minutes of the proceedings of the Board at their
meeting held September 21, 1957, were approved, copy of the
same having been transmitted to the several members of the
Board under its order of October 1,1926.

From the Chancellor's office comes reports of resigna-
tions, new appointments, ad interim to the University staff,
retirement, and adjustments in work and salary for members of
the several staffs, money being available for those purposes
from former apportionment by the Board, the following actions is taken.

Resignations Approved
It was moved by Regent Elliot, seconded by Regent
Foote, motion put to vote and carried, accepting reccomenda-
tion of the Chancellor's office that the following resignations
be approved:

Resignations
Dorothy Arthur Miller, Assistant Field Work Instructor,
School of Social Work, without salary, effecitve June 1, 1957.
Raymond D. Vlasin, Research Associate in Agricultural
Economics, salary paid from USDA funds, effective August 2,
1957.

John W. Carson, Instructor in History, effective August 31, 1957.

Richard Vern Connin, Research Associate in Entomology,
effective September 6, 1957.

Janet Fern Schmidt, Public Service Librarian, effective October 29, 1957.

New Appointments Approved
It was moved by Regent Thompson, seconded by Regent Elliott, motion put to vote and carried, accepting reccomendation of the Chancellor's office that the following new appointments be approved:

Robert James Stelup, part-time Instructor in Agricul-
turel Economics, at $71.11 per month from September 15, 2957 to January 31, 1958.
