T. J. Murrain, Fireman at Curtis School of Agriculture, at $88.71 per year single life, from December 1, 1957.

Deaths Recorded

From the Chancellor's office comes a report of the death of Edna Bullock, Assistant, Library, who died on October 30, 1957. It was moved by Regent Welsh, secconded by Regent Foote, motion put to vote and carried that this death be made a matter of record in these minutes and that the University retirement payrolls be adjusted.

Approve addition to P.M.Hall Art Collection

Approval was given to the recommendation of the Director of the University Art Galleries that a number of art objects be purchased for the P. M. Hall Collection. These involve water color paintings, one piece of sculpture, nine prints and three ceramic pieces. All have been approved in accordance with the practice of having purchases reviewed by authorities in the field of art. Funds are available under the stipulations providing for the Hall Art Collection. Motion for approval was made by Regent Swanson, seconded by Regent Thompson, put to vote and carried.

Accept gift of portrait from Mr. and Mrs. Marcel Stieglitz of New York

It was moved by Regent Thompson, seconded by Regent Swanson, motion put to vote and carried, that the gift of Mr. and Mrs. Marcel Stieglitz of New York City be accepted. Mr. and Mrs. Stieglitz have presented a water color portrait of Theodoros Stanos by Elias Newman. This picture has been reviewed by the Art Galleries Consulting Comitte, and it is the Comittee's recommendation that the gift be accepted.

Gifts and Grants Accepted

It was moved by Regent Welsh, seconded by Regent Foote, that the following gifts and grants for the period October 8 to November 5, 1957, as reported by the University Research Administrator, be accepted:

$2,500 from the Nebraska State Department of Agriculture, Potato Development Division to Dr. W. B. Allington of the Department of Plant Pathology: Serology of Potato Viruses (Continuation).

$3,529.34 from the Nebraska State Department of Wheat Development to Dr. Roscoe E. Hill and Kenneth P. Pruess of th Department of Entomology: Biological and Ecological Studies on Cutworms Attacking Wheat (Continuation).

$4,000 from Lloyd Brothers, Incorporated to Dr. Roy G. Holly of the Collge of Medicine: Obstetric and Gynecologist Research Laboratory (Continuation).

$37,000 from the Ford Foundation to Jack G. McBride, Director of University Television; Faculty Released Time for Educational Television Participation.

$4,673 from the Educational Television and Radio Center to the Dr. Charles O. Neidt of the Department of Educational Psychology and Measurements: Reaction of High School Students to Television Teachers.

$12,500 from the National Science Foundation to Dr. John H. Pazur of the Department of Biochemisty and Nutrition: Enzymatic Synthesis of Galactoayl Oligosaccharides.

$9,085 from the U. S. Public Health Service to Drs. E. R. Peo, Jr. and D. B. Hudman of the Department of Animal Husbandry: Colostrum Deprived Pigs for Assay of Human Infant Diets.
