BUFFALO BILL'S Wild West and Congress of Rough Riders may not be a World's Fair exhibit, and being located outside of Jackson Park, probably is not, but it would be difficult to pursuade something like a million boys, and not a few men, that it is not, or at least ought not to be. Shows are of two classes, shows and fakes. The wonderful combination presented by Col. W. F. Cody, (Buffalo Bill) at Sixty-third street and Stoney Island avenue, adjoining the World's Fair, belongs to the first class; it is a show, before which all other shows fade--in other words, it is the greatest show we ever saw, and we have been in the show business, as spectators, ever since we were able to elude the argus-eyed canvas-man and crawl under the canvas. As well go to Rome, where this show has been by the way, and not see St. Peters, as come to Chicago and miss the marvelous exhibition of rough riding to be seen at the Wild West Show. We advise you, good people, not to leave Chicago without taking in Buffalo Bill and his Wild West. | 278 |
