"Buffalo Bill." - The performance
of the "Knight of the Plains," last
evening, drew a fair sized audience.
The play is decidedly sensational,
and "for those who like that sort of
a thing, it is the very sort of a
thing they'd like." We cannot recommend
last night's performance
as first class, though no doubt its
points of merit will be brought out
better when the actors become better
acquainted with their parts.
Part of the time the audience could
not hear what was said, and the
play "dragged" considerably as
well. The scenery of the burning
prairie and the stage robbery were
very fine. Mr. Cody's fancy shooting
and the Indian dance by the
Burgess Brothers were also much
appreciated. The former presents
a fine stage appearance, but evidently
was destined for another
sphere of action. Some of the characters
were well played, others but
tamely. To-night the performance
will be repeated.
