191State Museum of Natural History. Albany N. Y. May 5th 1885 My Dear Sir: The specimens you send differ slightly from the description of [Tulostom]? [mammosum]? in having the month of the peridium slightly lacerate not "entire". Still I think it a mere form of the species as I do not find other differences sufficient to warrant a specific separation. The specimens are large and well developed though apparently old.
