AMUSEMENTS.

Academy of Music---Buffalo Bill Combination.

The San Francisco Minstrels---Widow Bedott"--Shelby's Adelphi.

The Buffalo Bill Combination attracted a large audience to the Academy of Music last evening, and Col. Ingraham's border melodrama, entitled "Buffalo Bill at Bay," which was produced here for the first time, pleased the audience exceedingly. While the play does not deprive Mr. Cody (Buffalo Bill) of any of the heroic situations to which he is fairly entitled, its scenes are not so boisterous as was noticeable in the earlier plays in which Buffalo Bill figured and there is no such violent use of the shooters, although they are brought into play in a quietly effective way. Hon. Wm. F. Cody (Buffalo Bill) is a better actor than he was, and his personations of Buffalo Bill, Denver Dick, and Capt. [?] Frederick are excellent. His display of rifle shooting in the third act was very fine. The company supporting Mr. Cody is a very good one, and not the least interesting member of the company is the Indian athlete and contortionist who really does some astonishing things. Mr. J. J. Louden, Mr. Lou Willard, Mr. [?] Beverly, Mr. Charles Wilson, Mr. Harry Irving, Mr. Harry Melmer, Mr. Delancey Barclay, Mr. George Cosgrove, Mr. C. A. Burgess, Miss Lydia Denier, and Miss Nellie Jones all acquitted themselves handsomely. The company will appear this and to-morrow evening and to-morrow afternoon.
