Dear Sir,

It is a pleasure as well
as an assistance to me for me to send you
specimens. I hope to send you many
but I never want you to return me
the postage. I am sending them more
for my own benefit than yours and
therefore I gladly pay all expenses. Circumstances
prevented me from making my
trip west as intended, therefore I would
like very much to master the flowers of this
country this summer. I am a novice in
botany with a constantly increasing
love for the study. I will take it as one
of the greatest pleasures of the season
if you will vising Long Pine and I will gladly
assist you all I can. If you will draft
me a line a few days before you start I will
