There is a long lean new [chum] tramp to be seen in this neighborhood wearing a pair of gold specs, leggins and a most peculiar looking tin can that is a cross between a liver pad and a wash boiler. He seems to be a little off in the upper story for he spends his time gathering weeds and grasses & hay seed and mosquitos and burrs and such rubbish, and is heard to mutter strange gibberish words like ["Theloecystis] chrysophthalmus" "Come off the roof" and the like. They say he is a Yankee but there are doubts. However some say that he is pseudo scientifico-botanical and preserves with devout care the weeds collected.
