Dear Prof. Bessey,

I want to study [?] this
summer especially those that show
the presence of fungi. Should you suppose
that Mr Arthur would be good
teacher if he could be induced to
take a student for a month or so.

I may have to go east and
if he is still in Geneva and would
take me, it would be just in my
way. I felt that you could tell me
just what Mr Arthur was as a teacher.
He was with you in Ames as an
assistant I believe.

My regards to Mrs Bessey and the
children.

Sincerely yours
L. J. Martin

Dear Prof. Bessey,

I want to study [?] this summer especially those that show the presence of fungi. Should you approve that Mr. Arthur would be good teacher if he could be interested to take a student for a month or so.

I may have to go east and if he is still in Geneva and would take me, it would be just in my way. I felt that you could tell me just what Mr Arthur was as a teacher. He was with you in Ames as an assistant I believe.

My regards to Mrs. Bessey and the children.
