Regent Holmes moved that the secretary be authorized to procure a telephone instrument to be placed in th chancellors residence: which motion prevailed. Resignation of Miss Smith Accepted Regent Burnman moved that the resignation of Miss Ellen Smith as Principal of the Latin School, presented to the board at the June meeting 1884, be accepted, as taking effect of that date: which motion also prevailed. Leave of Absence to Chancellor &c. Regent Burnman moved as follows: Professors to be Paid Travelling Expenses. Regent Mallalieu moved that the travelling expenses of Professors, to different parts of the state, visiting high schools &c., on behalf of the university , be paid. $40.00 for Prof. Hick's Dep't.
