83Buffalo Bill. Buffalo Bill and company appeared at the theatre Saturday afternoon and evening. The attendance in the afternoon was fair, and in the evening the theatre was crowded as it has never been crowded before, and the receipts were the largest ever known at the place for one night. Over 1800 people were in the house, and the pressure continued so great that many were turned away, and some of those who had purchased tickets had their money refunded, not being able to get into the hall. The receipts for the evening were $1125, the largest amount of money ever taken there for one performance and the audience was made up of more people than Buffalo Bill has ever appeared before in any other city, the receipts have only once been exceeded, that being in St. Louis, where higher prices were charged. The people enjoyed the entertainment, and their applause was as generous as their patronage. The play, "The Prairie Waif," is as good, if not better, than the best Buffalo Bill has ever brought here, and the company was the best that he has ever introduced to a Worecester audience. | 83Buffalo Bill.
