Lovers of the border drama will have a treat to night at the Opera House in Buffalo Bill's presentation of the "The Prairie Waif." The piece is very interesting and excititng, while the scenic effect which he carries with him is admirable and well adapted to the play. The drama deals with life on the frontier, and as a consequence is full of stirring scenes, which are relieved at times by quaint humor and touching pathos. The plot is the capture by the Indians of a little child, her rescue after years by the guide (Buffalo Bill,) who carefully protects her till she becomes a loving and beautiful woman, and in the end is rewarded for his kindness by the hand of the "Prairie Waif." A special feature of the performance is the shooting of Buffalo Bill, which is said to be really marvelous. The troupe supporting him is an excellent one throughout, and those who attent to-night will witness an excellent entertainment. |
