NATIONAL THEATRE--BUFFALO BILL--MAY CODY.

Buffalo Bill, as an actor, is not to be judged by
any of the conventional standards, but that he is a
good drawing card cannot be denied, and the rough,
wild, exciting border life he illustrates, aided by
genuine and untutored savages is not without specific
attracting power; and the fact that he appears in
first-class theatres is sufficient proof that Buffalo
Bill's patronage is not wholly confined to the gallery.
Of all the border heroes who have appeared
on the stage, Mr. Cody is by far the best, in fact the
only one who has maintained from year to year an
organization, and an increasing reputation. There
is considerable in the drama of "May Cody" to commend,
some stirring scenes and incidents and some
really good acting. The hero, himself, is a sight
worth seeing.
