The county clerk has almost completed the computation of the expenses of the pending term of district court, although some claims against the county on account thereof have not yet been certified up. From those now in, however, Clerk Howe estimates that the expense of the term to the county will reach $11,000. This is a neat sum when it is remembered that salaries of court officers are not included in the estimate. The cost of the Sheedy murder case foots up about $6,000. And still there are a good many witnesses complaining that they have been unable to get their fees.
