PAWNEE BILL'S FAR EAST

Something New in Horsemanship

We have also secured the Ray Thompson and Rhoda Royal troupes of manage horses, trained ridden and tooled by real Western girls and Frenchman, the whole forming the most finished and remarkable class of equestrianism the public has ever seen. Mr. Thompson's favorite saddle horse which he introduces in this art is a Texas-bred animal named in honor of Senator "Joe" Bailey of the Lone Star State. This horse not only executes all gaits known to the equestrian world but has been trained to perform a number of entirely new tricks and movements under the saddle, the most marvelous being what is known as the "three-legged canter," in which action he carries one forward foot high in the air gallops up and down the arena without touching the upraised foot to the ground, yet at the slightest signal from the rider he reverses his gait from one foot to the other. He also does the cakewalk backwards, introducing a number of eccentric steps and movements and finishes with the "hoochee koochee" dance.

This great group of thoroughbred horses will not only aid to cover all the skill exhibited in the ridings schools of the world, including every gait from walk, trot, lope, pace, gallop, run, single-step and canter, associated with the highest breeding studs of the older nations, and notably our own blue grass region of Kentucky, but will also execute every known trick, pose, dance and haute-ecole known to the arena, besides newly devised intricacies of action, groupings and ballets invented by their national renowned trainers.
