Buffalo Bill.

Hon. W. F. Cody (Buffalo Bill) has visited this city several seasons, on each occasion being greeted by a large house but never has he been greeted by such a multitude as greeted him last evening. Nearly every chair was occupied and a large number were standing. It is estimated on good authority that over fourteen hundred people were present.

The plot is drawn from a vivid picture of frontier life and is made up of many thrilling scenes and encounters of Buffalo Bill with the desperadoes that infest the plains. The writer of this play has mingled mirth with solemnity in such a manner that it cannot help but please all.

Mr. Cody was well supported, as usual, having a number of his former company with him, among whom we particularly noticed being Mr. Jule King, the versatile and eccentric Dutch comedian, and Miss Sallie Adams, who, in their musical specialties, are excellent. The trick donkey, "Jerry," also comes in for a share of the praise and forms an interesting feature of the programme.

The fancy rifle shooting by Mr. Cody was highly applauded, as in fact was each and every act of this noted scout. -- Clinton (Ia.) [?]

This company will appear at the Opera House this evening, and you want to be sure and go.

Last Friday evening the Opera House was filled with the largest audience gathered there in a long time to witness the performance given by the Buffalo Bill combination. The receipts footed somewhere in the neighborhood of $600. To say that the audience was pleased would be drawing it exceedingly mild, judging from the cheers of the "gallery gods" and the clapping of hands and expressions from the occupants of parquette.
