Buffalo Bill and his troupe were greeted with a large audience at the Grand on Monday night, who were well pleased with the evening's entertainment. The troupe comprises a good Dutchman, darkey, and old maid. Also a couple of handsome young women, and four or five spectacular appendages in the shape of Indians. -- B. B. was always on hand at the critical time to play the hero, preserving his coolness and self-possession under circumstances of imminent peril, (in his mind.) But why -- being within easy range of the rascals when they chucked the "genuine Capt. Orton" into a hole, and piled big stones on him -- why he didn't open fire upon them and rescue the unfortunate individual, is one of those very few things which we do not profess to understand. Instead of doing that he did himself behind a cedar bush (in a box) and after the probabilities seemed to be that the Captain was as dead as a herring, he dug him out from the bottom of the pit in triumph. We are happy to add that the Captain recovered from his injuries, and followed the company off next morning.
