An Indian on the War Path.

"Buffalo Bill" and his Indians made a street parade yesterday afternoon, and the crowds gathered in some parts of the city reminded many of circus day. William and his braves were followed over the route by a long string of boys, and while coming up Fourth street below Mulberry, some of these boys not liking the color of the hair of a brave who brought up the rear the hair being red shot snowballs at him. One of these white balls bent the lobe of his right ear, which made him so angry that he wheeled his horse around and made a dash for the boys, who had wheeled about quicker than the horse. Down the street he went at a terrific speed, and when opposite the boys he whirled around his head a long lance that he carried, and hurled it to the sidewalk, one boy making a narrow escape from being pinned to the ground. Nothing saved him but the fact that the lance flew in such a shape that both ends struck the sidewalk at the same time.
