AMUSEMENTS.
"The Prairie Waif."
A large audience greeted the production of this border drama at the opera house last Saturday evening, and went away highly delighted with it and the manner which it was presented. "Buffalo Bill" has been before the public as an actor nine seasons, and it must be acknowledged that he never appeared to such good advantage as he does in "The Prairie Waif." His style of acting has perceptibly improved within a year even, and he now gives to his roles a marked and easy interpretation, which wins him everywhere the plaudits of the house. His rifle shooting, too, seems to have grown more skillful since he appeared here last season, and he may well claim the title of a peerless marksman. His exhibtion Saturday was given without a single mistake. Mr. Cody's company this season is by far the best he has offered for years and yields him a strong support.
