The Buffalo Daily Courier has this to say regarding the Buffalo Bill Combination which is advertised to appear in Bent's Opera House on the evening of Jan. 7th:
The largest house of the season greeted the "Buffalo Bill Combination" last evening. Long before the rise of the curtain every available seat was occupied and standing room was at a premium. The entree of "Buffalo Bill" (Hon. W. F. Cody) the renowned Scout and Guide, was the occasion of tremendous applause. The Drama, "Knight of the Plains, or Buffalo Bill's Best Trail," is a remarkably meritorious production, replete with startling effects, thrilling situations, and fine pictures. The appearance of the Pawnee and Nez Perces Indian Chiefs was a novel affair. On the whole the entertainment was meritorious, attractive and novel.

BUFFALO BILL
The popular sensational actor, Buffalo Bill, again brought out an immense gallery audience at the opera house last evening. The parquette and dress circle were only fairly filled, other attactions keeping many away. Buffalo Bill makes no pretensions but simply announces what kind of an entertainment he provides and then when the people come to bear him he disappoints them happily by giving them a much finer treat than they had reason to expect. He has gathered around him a good company, secured the services of a band of genuine Indians and is thus enabled to place his frontier drama on the boards in a realistic manner no one else can equal. The play given last evening was "Knights of the Plains, or Buffalo Bill's Best Trail." This will be kept on until Saturday evening when May Cody or Last and Won, will be given.
