Buffalo Bill's Last Shot.

Our readers well remembering Wm. F. Cody, better known as "Buffalo Bill," lately a resident of West Chester, will be interested in the following tragic occurrence which befell him as an actor, last night, while in the play of "May Cody." at Ford's Grand Opera House, Baltimore. It fell to Bill's lot to fire a pistol, unfortunately, and without the knowledge of any one, the weapon proved to be loaded with a ball cartridge. The bullet struck a youth named Michael Gardner, who was sitting in the upper gallery leaning over the railing. He made no outcry, and the discovery of the accident was not made until the audience had left the theatre. He then came down from the gallery with some of his companions. It was found that the bullet had entered the upper part of his chest, near the shoulder. The ball has not yet been found and the wound is considered dangerous.
