Corinthian Hall. - Buffalo Bill.

The celebrated scouts Buffalo Bill and Kit Carson, Jr., with their traveling company, appeared last evening in their new play of "Life on the Border," written especially for them by Hiram Robbins of Cincinnati. Despite the bitterly cold weather, a large audience was present, and gave frequent marks of their appreciation of the play and acting. The company, for a travelling one, is unusually strong, and perform their several parts in an admirable manner. The troupe will remain here during the week, and those of our readers who have not seen Buffalo Bill should not let this opportunity pass without doing so.

"Life on the Border" is a different kind of a play from any in which Buffalo Bill has before appeared. It is diverted of all the blood-curdling features which are generally regarded as distasteful to a refined audience. The play is similar to "Davy Crockett," and might almost be styled a companion piece to that celebrated production.

"Buffalo Bill."

There will undoubtedly be a good deal of gunpowder burnt in Corinthian Hall this week, as Buffalo Bill, supported by Kit Carson, Jr., and a fill dramatic company; will appear in the new drama, written expressly for Bill, entitled "Life on the Border." This will be given every evening of the week with the exception of to-night. There will also be a matinee on Saturday afternoon. "Life on the Border" has been produced before crowded houses in Albany, Troy, Cohoes, Syracuse and other cities and the press of those cities speak in the highest terms, both of the play and the manner in which it is produced. The Troy Press says:

Last night Buffalo Bill and an excellent company had a splendid house and presented the new drama of "Life on the Border" which possesses more real merit in plot, dialogue and situation than any the scouts have as yet appeared in. Without being so loudly sensational as most of its latter day class it is at the same time intensely interesting and the effective tableaux at the end of each act quite thrillingly; Buffalo Bill, Kit Carson and the entire troupe have an excellent interpretation of this border society drama.

There is unquestionably enough in this production to satisfy the most ardent admirer of thrilling situations.

Buffalo Bill, whose proper name is W. F. Cody, Hon. W. F. Cody - once a member of the Kansas legislature - supported by Kit Carson Jr. and a dramatic company, will appear Tues. and Wednesday evening: "Life on the Border," the first night, and "Scouts of the Plains" the second night. In this instance we have the simon pure representatives of the far west.
