THE THEATRE- Last night a large audience was assembled at Rouse's Hall, to see the far famed "Scouts of the Plains," Buffalo Bill and Texas Jack. The troupe is a good one, and the plays were rendered better than anything of kind we have ever witnessed, and elicited hearty applause from the audience. M'lle Morlacchi is the finest danseuse that ever appeared upon the boards of this city, and is probably without an equal in this country. She called forth richly deserved applause.

To any who doubt that the original Buffalo Bill and Texas Jack are not with the troupe, they can produce the certificates of Major General Phil Sheridan, to substantiate their claim, besides a host of others. But to our mind the most positive proof of their being the original scouts, was their natural easy manner on the stage, being free from all rant and mouthing, so frequent in old actors.

To all who desire to see these famous men, we would say go early to-night, if you wish to secure a good seat, for the house will be crowded. The same plays will be repeated.

The " Scouts of the Plains" had a fairsized audience at the Opera house last evening, and the entertainment was by no means an indifferent one. Of course the scenes were thrilling, and gunpowder entered largely into the performance, but the presentation was faitful to frontier life and he participants showed a thorough apprecaition of their duty. The ballet dancing of Mlle. Morlacchi was well executed, and as a novelty and atrue exposition of Indain life and adventures the melo-drama of the Scouts was a success.
