22Buffalo Bill. The Academy of Music was crowded at night to see Buffalo Bill in his play "The Scouts of the Plains, or Red [?] as it Is". He was ably [?] by the full strength of the Rochester opera house company. In some of the acts, especially where the cave scene is presented, there is a noticeable improvement over the last year's performance. The slaughter of savages and the branding of knives was relieved by the [?] the blundering Dutchman, and the [?] of the sanctimonious Quaker, cut out by the government to civilize [?] Indian with tracts, and the audience [?] with laughter and applauded the happy terminations. The play throughout gave satisfaction, and Buffalo Bill [?] console himself with the fact that he has not been forgotten by the [?] public. The Rochester company embraces a large amount of talent, and the legitimate drama has a proud reputation. They proved themselves [?] to the task last night in the representation of the frontier life.
