BUFFALO BILL AND TEXAS JACK ON THE FOX TRAIL.--This morning Buffalo Bill and Texas Jack, came to our borough from Philadelphia, where they are filling a dramatic engagement, and with Jefferson Shaner, Capt. George R. Guss and others, went out on a general fox hunt. They looked well upon their firy steeds, and created quite an interest in our people as they rode gracefully out of town. The party took their course towards the Brandywine, we hope to chronicle a successful hunt for them in to-morrow's issue.

Buffalo Bill - He Intends Gunning After Captain Jack

Hon Wm. F. Cody, better known to our reader as "Buffalo Bill," is in our borough to-day, the guest of Col. Guss, to whom he is related.

As many of our readers are aware, Mr. Cody is now the leading star in the celebrated play entitled "The Scouts of the Praire," which is delighting all Philadelphia at present. In conversation with this noted scout and hunter of the Western wilds, he has inforced us that he is about to take up his residence in West Chester, or rather he will locate his family here. He has rented a fine brick dwelling on Washington street between Walnut and Matlack streets, into which he proposes moving his family at once, they being now stopping at New York.

As for Bill's personal self he informs us that after he has filled his dramatic engagement, which expires on the 28th of next June, he will again return to the was path after Captain Jack, in the employ of the Government as Chief of Scouts, under General Sheridan, to whom he is very much attached. We rather think our hero entertains the ideas (and we trust it is well founded) that he can trap Captain Jack. One thing is certain if he gets withing anything like a respectable range of him with his rifle (which he calls "Lucretia Porgia"), that somewhat prominent Indian individual will more than probably bite the dust.

Bill looks better than when last he paid us a visit, which would prove that his new sphere (that of the stage) is congenial both to his physical and mental make up. We wish him the success he deservedly merits on whatever stage of life he may be called upon to act his part.

ARM BROKEN. --- We noticed a few days ago that "Buffalo Bill" was about locating his family in West Chester, and now in connection with the same we have an accident to chronicle. Yesterday his wife's mother, after the family had but a few hours previous taken possession of their new home on Washington, between Walnut and Matlack streets fell down a flight of stairs and broke one of her arms. The injury, although painful, is reported as not being of a very serious character. Dr. Hartman reduced the fracture.

Buffalo Bill.

Buffalo Bill being now a citizen of West Chester, it becomes us to follow him in his wanderings and note whatever we may deem of interest concerning him. We take the following from the Omaha Republican of the 17th inst. : The lions of the hour yesterday were Buffalo Bill and Texas Jack, who arrived here on the forenoon train. Bill looks as handsome as ever, and he sports as wealth of jewelry. He is "well heeled" financially, and he "loomed it up" for the boys right lively yesterday. Jack has changed wonderfully. We failed to recognize him. Instead of the buck-skin, bead-trimmed suit, he wears a faultlessly fitting suit of the best "store clothes," and that $1,000 chain he purchased at Tiffany's, New York.

Both wear valuable diamonds, and swing gold-headed canes very gracefully. They have made stacks of money playing "The Scouts of the Prairies" among the Yanks. Bill says it is a heap better financially than scouting or going to the Legislature, although he likes the prairie life the best.

They have a new equestrian drama, entitled "Alexis in America," which they will play on horseback next season, opening in New York August 25th, and afterward going to Europe.

They are accompanied by E.B. Overton a young English earl; E.P. Greene, of Amsterdam, N.Y., and Scott, the batter, of Chicago. They start to-day for North Platte, whence they will go on a buffalo hunt. Bill says he hasn't been in the saddle since he went on the stage. He has a bridle with him made of Indian scalps, adorned with $400 worth of silver, which he will put on his horse to-morrow for the first time. August Belmont, the New York banker, offered him $1,000 for it, which he refused.

Mr. Cody has purchased a placed in West Chester, twenty miles from Philadelphia, Pa., and there, he says, "Wife and babies are in camp."

In Bill's own words, we close this notice: "I'm not darned scout now; I'm a first-class star."
