It was Ned Buntline who went r oaming about the streets of Indianapolis with a brace of navies and a bowie knife in his belt, and not Buffalo Bill. B. B., or either of his associates, from what we saw of them last night, could toss an enemy out of pistol range of themselves in case of an emergency, and need no weapons only when out West, where they have the wily savage and the desperado to deal with.

Personal.

Buffalo Bill, Wild Bill, and Texas Jack, and the ladies of the troupe, are quartered at the Terre Haute House.

Buffalo Bill's real name is Wm. F. Cody, and he was once elected to the Legislature of the State of Nebraska, and he served his constituency ably and faithfully.

The Scouts performed in the presence of a large and an admiring audience at the Opera House, last night. The playing of the company was more animated than the evening before, if possible, and the enthusiam of their auditors was correspondingly increased. The drama is of that novel and striking style that attracts and enthuses.

To-night the engagement will close with a specially attractive bill as the management assure the public that then and there (Opera House tonight) the "peerless" M'lle Morlachi, the greatest living danseuse, pantomimist and actress, will appear in the laughable farce of "Thrice Married," in which she will assume four different characters, also dance and sing. Previous to the performance of the great drama of "Buffalo Bill."

IT is reported that is the custom of Buffalo Bill to wear a brace of navies in his belt, besides a scalping knife, when pedestrianating the streets of such frontier towns as Indianapolis. Isasmuch as the Sentinel objects to such proceeding it may be well to refer to the case of the solitary horseman who was mounted by a catamount while riding through one of the suburbs of that town, about a month since. If a mounted man is not safe from the catamounts, then what about footmen.
