Many thanks for your
kind congratulations in matter[s?]
of compensation by the Legislature,
so many similar kind words
from many sources, and the
near unanimous vote in the
Senate – 28 to 3, and [sic.] 2 of my
friends were out – I confess flatters
me, and leads to the conclusion
the claim had merit
in it, and not a steal as the
Omaha B[?] called it.

I called at all print
when I thought some one ought
to know when my forthcoming
Report would be printed. No
one could inform me. it seems
the contract for that printing
has not yet been awareded.
I have the "copy" all ready, and
