My Dear Bessey—
I am much
obliged to you for the notes and
release on the Silphium. I have
a quantity of alcoholic material
of the [?] of the college and
hope to work out the matter next
term. It would give me great
pleasure to prepare a paper
on the [?] for the Naturalist
when the work is done. Please
accept my thanks for the Bot.
Notes for Jan Nat inclosed in your
letter.
I am working on continuity of
protoplasm and kindred topics with
Dr. Goodale and on Fungi with Dr. Farlow.
With kind regards to your family
Yours very truly
