My Dear Prof. Bessey,

I am just home from
Chic. attending the Great Shows – Corn,
Fat Cattle, H[?], Poultry, Butter &
churn, Cattle Grasses etc. etc. I
find your kind favor 11/17. In reply:
Glad you are so mindful of the
State Board. I have been thinking
of just what you grant without
asking – the size of a Meeting
place in connection with the
University. Your promptings were,
doubtless, same as mine – to
bring the Ag. College and Farms, in
closer relation with the State Bd.
of Ag. This has long bee my
desire, as I think, I have before
said the same. [In?] behalf of the Bd.
I accept your offer, and will
call the meeting in Jan, next
to meet as you indicate.
