Thanks for your card of Oct 10, and the information
about Salicaria herbacea &c. I was quoting
the opinion of some one else, tho' I see really the
text does not show it, when I said that was the only
known locality west of the Onondaga Salt Springs of
N. Y.

I hope I may be able to bring out
of this survey all that you and others seem to
expect from year to year, and close it up by
and by creditably, or at least leave it in a
creditably incomplete shape.
