Dear Prof. How are matters
in the college? Was the position of St.
[?], filled to the satisfaction of the
people of the state? What has been
done with the [vet?] professorship in
the college? Do they still intend to
put some one in that place?

Matters here are much as of old.
In some respects the year has
been a satisfactory one. I suppose
your sister and mother will be home
soon. They can doubtless tire you
much more than it would be
safe to put on paper.
