My dear Profesor:

Miss A[?] A. [Southworth?], one of our
best students, has jsut finished a good piece of
work on the development of the stomata of common
oats which I will have her send you for the
Naturalist. It comes from the botanical Laboratory.
Another students Mr. C. W. Dodge, will perhaps send
you some observations of the ascent of [?] in vessels
of [?]. If you are tired of our [?]
at any time do not hesitate to say so.

I had hoped to invite you to my house at the time
of the A. Assn. next summer but expect now to leave for
Europe in June to be gone a year. Shall be disappeared upon
[?] [?] to [?] [?].
