Chicago, Oct. 29. 1885.

Prof. C.E. Bessey,
My Dear Sir:

During the summer I
have been writing some Botany for
children in the line of Supplementary
Reading.

I have had extracts from this
printed for experimental purposes.

If you are so inclined and have
the time to spare I should like very
much to have you send me such
criticisms as you might have to offer
upon the copy I have mailed you.

Of course illustrations will do
much for the work.

I hope you are well and enjoying
your new work.

Kind regards to Mrs. Bessey,
Very Sincerely Yours,
Chas. H. Ford.
