Colin B. Schack, reappointment as Instructor in Obstetrics and
Gynecology, at $1200 per year, from July 1, 1959 to June 13, 1960.

Division of Student Affairs
G. Jane Wendorff, Assistant to Dean-Scholarship Awards, from $4800
to $5500 per year effective November 1, 1959; increased responsibility
and duties in connection with proposed Student Financial Aids plan.

Retirements approved

It was moved by Regent Welsh, seconded by Regent Elliott, motion
put to vote and carried, that the following retirements be approved as
recommended by the Chancellor's office.

RETIREMENT

R. W. Goss, Dean of the Graduate College, Professor of Plant
Pathology and Plant Pathologist, Emeritus, at $1425.33 per year, joint
and survivorship, effective October 1, 1959.

Joseph Perkins, Laborer at Fort Robinson, at $181.05 per year,
single life, effective November 1, 1959.

Deaths recorded

From the Chancellor's office comes a report of the death of a
retired staff member. It was moved by Regent Greenberg, seconded by
Regent Foote, motion put to vote and carried, that this death be made a
matter of record in these minutes and the University payrolls adjusted
accordingly. The name of the deceased and date of death is as follows:

Alton H. DeLong, retired County Extension Agent, October 14, 1959.

Authorize U of N Press to
publish Henry VIII in Italy
by Prof. Wm. Bowsky

It was moved by Regent Adkins, seconded by Regent Greenberg, motion
put to vote and carried, authorizing the president and corporation
secretary of the Board of Regents to sign a Memorandum of Agreement in
behalf of the University of Nebraska Press covering the publication of
Henry VII in Italy by Professor William Bowsky.

Authorize supplement to contract
with Hdq. Air Force Office of
Scientific Research

It was moved by Regent Greenberg, seconded by Regent Adkins,
motion put to vote and carried, directing the president and corporation
secretary of the Board of Regents to sign in behalf of the Board a
supplement to contract AF49(638)-506 with the Headquarters Air Force
Office of Scientific Research, dated October 12, 1959, wherein the
airforce makes an additional grant of $7,144.31 for continuation of the
above research project.

Accept bequest of Christine Smith
of Omaha to Univ. Of Nebr.Hosp.

It was moved by Regent Elliott, seconded by Regent Welsh, motion
put to vote and carried, directing acceptance of a bequest of $2,049.29
from the estate of Christine Smith, of Omaha, which bequest is for the
University of Nebraska Hospital to be used as the Dean of the College of
Medicine may direct.

Change name of Dept. of Animal
Pathology to "Dept. of Veterinary
Science"

From the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Dean W. V. Lambert,
comes a recommendation that the Department of Animal Pathology and
Hygiene be changed in name to read "Department of Veterinary Science"
effective immediately.

It was moved by Regent Greenberg, seconded by Regent Adkins,
motion put to vote and carried, directing that effective immediately the
Department of Animal Pathology and Hygiene shall be known as the
Department of Veterinary Science.

Authorize change in nomenclature
of staff ranks at College of Agr.

From the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Dean W. V. Lambert,
comes a recommendation for a change in nomenclature of saff ranks in
the Agricultural Exension Service and Agricultural Experiment Station.
It is the desire to give appropriate professorial rank and titles to
individuals in these two departments.

As an example of the change involved, Dean Lambert points out that
the individual in the Agricultural Experiment Station now titled
"Agronomist" will have the new title of Professor of Agronomy (Experiment
Station).
