Authorize Memo. of Agreement for publication of Robert McAlmon: Expatriate Publisher and Writer
It was moved by Regent Greenberg, seconded by RegentFoote, motion put to vote and carried, that the president and assistant corporation secretary be authorized and directed to execute a memorandum of agreement with Robert E. Knoll for publication of Robert McAlmon: Expatriate Publisher and Writer.
Authorize Memo. of Agreement with State of Nebraska for aerial application of chemicals
It was moved by Regent Foote, seconded by Regent Greenberg, motion put to vote and carried, that the president and assistant corporation secretary be authorized and directed to execute a memorandum of agreement with the Department of Aeronautics of the State of Nebraska under which the Department of Aeronautics will provide $11,600 in support of research in the field of aerial application of agricultural chemicals.
Ratify action of former vice president in signing deed
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, by special warranty deed, dated May 25, 1945, filed June 2, 1945, in Book 358, Page 106, of the Deed Records of Lancaster County, Nebraska, The Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska, by Robert W. Devoe, Vice President, attested by John K. Selleck, Corporation Secretary, conveyed to William J. Smith and Frances Smith, husband and wife, as joint tenants with right of survivorship and not as tenants in common, for a consideration of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00). the following described real estate:
Lot Ten (10), Block Seven (7), Trester's Addition to Lincoln, Nebraska, known as 2548 W Street, Lincoln, Nebraska;
and
WHEREAS, in order to perfect the title to said real estate it is desired that The Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska confirm said conveyance; and
WHEREAS. at that time, no buildings of the University of Nebraska were located upon said real estate, and it was the judgment of the Board that the University could be benefited by said conveyance;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the action of the Vice President of the Board of Regents and the Corporation Secretary thereof, in making, executing and delivering said special warranty deed, be and the same hereby is in all respects confirmed and ratified.
The adoption of the above resolution was moved by Regent Greenberg, seconded by Regent Elliott, and unanimously carried.
Set non-resident fee for graduate thesis work in absentia
It was moved by Regent Elliott, seconded by Regent Foote, motion put to vote and carried, that the tuition fee schedule be revised for certain graduate students registered for thesis work in absentia who have qualified as Nebraska residents while in attendance at the University and who are earning thesis credit while residing in a state other than Nebraska. Fees assessed shall be resident fee plus a nominal non-resident fee of $1.00 per registration for thesis credit.
Authorize purchase of sculpture in F. M. Hall Collection
It was moved by Regent Foote, seconded by Regent Greenberg, motion put to vote and carried, that the wax sculpture entitled "Bimbo Ebreo" be purchased for the F. M. Hall Collection as proposed by the Director of the Art Galleries. This purchase was made in accordance with the provisions of the Hall bequest.
There being no further business, the Board adjourned.
