It was stated by Mr. Donaldson that since the completion of Fedde Hall, Loomis Hall is no longer needed and in fact stands vacant at the present time. Loomis Hall is located at 1411 North 37th Street.

Authorize deed when Loomis Hall is sold

It was moved by Regent Foote, seconded by Regent Swanson, motion put to vote and carried, directing that Loomis Hall be sold and that the president and corporation secretary of the Board of Regents shall be authorized to sign in behalf of the Board a deed conveying this property to the purchaser.

Renew USAF contract for flight training for Air ROTC

It was moved by Regent Foote, seconded by Regent Swanson, motion put to vote and carried, directing the president and corporation secretary of the Board of Regents shall be authorized to sign in behalf of the Board the proposed renewal contract No. AF 01(611)605 with the U. S. Air Force covering flight training for Air ROTC enrollees.

Authorize execution of revised escrow instructions re sale of Vreeland residence

In the matter of the sale of the Vreeland residence in Los Angeles, California, to Mrs. Rae Gillis, which sale was approved by the Board of Regents in session May 15, 1958, now comes information from the University attorneys that a slight change in the escrow instructions approved by the Board on May 15, 1958, will be necessary to complete the sale of this property.

It was moved by Regent Greenberg, seconded by Regent Elliott, motion put to vote and carried, ratifying the action of the president and assistant corporation secretary of the Board of Regents in executing a revised escrow agreement and deed of conveyance for the Vreeland residence in Los Angeles, California.

Approve additional freshman Regents Scholarships

From the Chancellor's office comes a proposal and recommendation that 25 additional non-transferable freshman Regents scholarships valued at $100 each for the freshman academic year be awarded to the top 25 Regents scholarship winners regardless of the winners school apportionment. It was further recommended that no change be made in the present awarding of 300 Regents freshman scholarships as presently provided.

It was moved by Regent Elliott, seconded by Regent Greenberg, that the proposal to provide 25 additional nontransferable freshman Regents scholarships at $100 per academic year be awarded to the top 25 winners irrespective of school apportionment. Motion put to vote and carried.

Accept Research and Training Grants

It was moved by Regent Swanson, seconded by Regent Foote, motion put to vote and carried, directing the following gifts and grants be accepted as itemized by Dean John C. Weaver, Research Administrator, under date of October 23, 1958.

Research Grants

$9,795 from U. S. Public Health Service for research by Dr. C. L. Marsh of the Department of Animal Pathology and Hygiene: Enzymology of Certain Metazoan Parasites. (Continuation).

$1,000 from Nebraska Heart Association for research by Prof. J. E. Shannon of the Department of Physiology: Embryonic Hearts.

$5,354 from U. S. Public Health Service for research by Dr. J. R. Mattoon of the Department of Chemistry: Biosynthesis of Lysine in Yeast.

$2,000 from Safeway Stores, Inc., through the University of Nebraska Foundation for research by Dr. L. K. Crowe of the Department of Dairy Husbandry: Study of the effectiveness of cleaning and sanitizing milk lines with welded elbow construction using cleaned-in-place procedures.

$2,000 from Phillips Petroleum Company through the University of Nebraska Foundation for research
