These contract amounts are a part of the overall bids covering the entire Research Pavilion facility.
Second Floor of Research Pavilion at NPI to be named "The Carl and Caroline Swanson Childrens Clinic"
It was moved by Regent Welsh, seconded by Regent Greenberg, motion put to vote and carried that the second floor addition to the Research Pavilion at the Nebraska Psychiatric Institute, as and when constructed, shall be known as "The Carl and Caroline Swanson Childrens Clinic."
Convey 21 feet to Bishop Clarkson for street purposes
It was moved by Regent Greenberg, seconded by Regent Welsh, motion put to vote and carried, that the president and assistant corporation secretary, upon receipt of $2,150.00 representing $100.00 per running foot, be authorized and directed to convey to Bishop Clarkson Memorial Hospital, a portion of University property described as the East 21.5 feet of Lot 17, Block 11, Briggs Place. Lot 17 was acquired under the terms of L. B. 311 passed by the 1955 Legislature to provide sufficient access roads to the area serving the Childrens Medical Center. By deed dated January 5, 1957, the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska conveyed to the City of Omaha the West 26.5 feet of Lot 17 for street purposes.
Resolution re conveyance of 21 feet for street purposes
The following Resolution was moved by Regent Greenberg, seconded by Regent Welsh, put to vote and carried unanimously.
WHEREAS, the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska, a corporation, is now the owner of the following described real estate in Douglas County, Nebraska:
The East 21.5 feet of Lot 17, Block 11, Briggs Place, an Addition to the City of Omaha, as surveyed, platted and recorded,
and has received an offer from Bishop Clarkson Memorial Hospital to purchase said property for the sum of $2,150.00; and
WHEREAS, said Bishop Clarkson Memorial Hospital is prepared to accept a deed of conveyance of said premises and to pay said purchase price;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska, a corporation, that the President and Assistant Secretary be and they hereby are authorized and directed to execute a proper deed of conveyance conveying to the said Bishop Clarkson Memorial Hospital the real estate above described in consideration of the said sum of $2,150.00.
Accept grants
It was moved by Regent Welsh, seconded by Regent Greenberg, motion put to vote and carried, that the following grants be accepted as recommended by the Dean of the Graduate College serving as University Research Administrator;
$12,399 from the U. S. Public Health Service to Dr. M. J. Carver of the College of Medicine: Basic Studies on Mongolism
$13,556 from the U. S. Public Health Service to Dr. R. J. Ellingson of the College of Medicine: EEG's and Cortical Evoked Responses of Human Infants
