Special Meeting

From Mr. Bennett S. Martin, Mayor of the City of
Lincoln, comes a request for the University of Nebraska to
participate in a study of interstate access and major streets
in the area surrounding the Lincoln City Campus from 10th to
17th Streets north of R Street.

Authorize participation in
study of interstate access
streets

This study will involve anticipated traffic volume and
access highways connecting the Nebraska interstate with the
City of Lincoln, such interstate accesss highway being adjacent
to or through the University City Campus and therefore of
great importance to University future campus development.

Mayor Martin indicates that the estimated cose of this
study to be made by Harland Bartholomew & Associates and
George Barton will be $10,000 and requests the University
participate in the cost to the extent of $2,500.

It was moved by Regent Greenberg, seconded by Regent
Elliott, motion put to vote and carried, directing the
University of Nebraska become a participating client with the
Lincoln City Council in employing Harland Bartholomew &
Associates and George Barton to conduct an immediate study of
proposed interstate access highway and its relationship with
the city campus of the University of Nebraska at a cost to
the University not to exceed $2,500, providing, however,
that in becoming a participating client payment will be made
by the University directly to Harland Bartholomew & Associates
and George Harton, and further that the University ofNebraska
will be a participant in outlining to the planning engineers
in advance of the study the interest of the University in

maintaining proper traffic control on the Lincoln City Campus.

Cooper, Humboldt

It was moved by Regent Foote, seconded by Regent
Swanson, notion put to vote and carried, directing that the
gift from the O. A. Cooper Company of Humboldt, of a poultry
building to the Poultry Department at the College of Agricul-
ture, be accepted.

From the Business Manager, Mr. Carl A. Donaldson, comes
a summary of bids received for Laboratory furniture and
equipment to be installed in Lymen Hall, now nearing completion.

Accept low bid

It was recommended by Mr. Donaldson that the low bid of
Walrus Mfg. Company of Decatur, Illinois be accepted. Mr.
Donaldson reported that he had personally visited this factory
and determined that the Walrus Mfg. Co. is a responsible firm
capable of delivering the equipment desired.

It was moved by Regent Greenberg, seconded by Regent
Foote, motion put to vote and carried, directing the low bid
from the Walrus Mfg. Co. of Decatur, Illinois, for furnishing
laboratory furniture and equipment as required for Lyman Hall
in the sum of $114,821.55, be accepted.

Resolution - Agreements for Warranty Deeds

It was moved by Regent Swanson, and seconded by Regent
Foote, that the following resolution be adopted, and the
adoption of said resolution was unanimously carried.
