It was moved by Regent Elliott, seconded by Regent Greenberg, motion put to vote and carried, that the following Resolution be approved:
WHEREAS, the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska desires to enter into a lease with Grace Cox, covering the South Half of the Northeast Quarter of Section 15, Township 10, Range 7, in Lancaster County, Nebraska, for a term of five years, automatically renewable unless sixty days prior to the termination of the lease, or any subsequent renewal, either party notifies the other party of intended termination of the lease, at a rental of One Thousand Dollars per year, said lease to begin March 1, 1958;
Resolution re rental of land from Grace Cox
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Carl A. Donaldson be authorized and empowered for and in behalf of The Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska, to enter into such lease with Grace Cox upon the drafting thereof in form approved by the University's attorneys.
Authorize rental of land from Charles C. Tubbs and Mildred Tubbs and Irvin F. Gillen and Kathleen M. Gillen
It was moved by Regent Elliott, seconded by Regent Greenberg, motion put to vote and carried, authorizing the president and corporation secretary of the Board of Regents to sign in behalf of the Board, a lease with Charles C. Tubbs and Mildred Tubbs for rental of ten acres, and a lease with Irvin F. Gillen and Kathleen M. Gillen for the rental of 15 acres near the Agricultural Experiment Station farm at 70th and Adams.
Authorize continuation of AEC grant
It was moved by Regent Foote, seconded by Regent Swanson, motion put to vote and carried, directing the president and corporation secretary of the Board of Regents be authorized to sign in behalf of the Board Supplement No. 5 to Contract No. AT(11-1)-249 with the U. S. Atomic Energy Commission, for an additional grant of $8,836.00, covering the period to January 31, 1959.
From Dr. Frank E. Henzlik, Dean of the Teachers College, comes information that the Link Foundation of Washington, D. C. is offering a $3,000 grant in support of a project in the Teachers College for the development of regional and national programs of Air Age Education as they relate to teacher education. It is recommended by Dean Henzlik that this grant be accepted.

It was moved by Regent Greenberg, seconded by Regent Elliott, motion put to vote and carried, directing that the grant from the Link Foundation, Washington, D. C. for Air Age Education be accepted.
Prof.Curtis E. Elliott authorized to act as educ.advisor for Natl. Assn. of Insurance Agents
From the Dean of the College of Business Administration, Dean Earl S. Fullbrook, comes information that Prof. Curtis M. Elliott, Professor of Economics and Insurance, has been invited by the National Association of Insurance Agents with headquarters in New York City to serve as its educational advisor. Dean Fullbrook advises that these duties will involve advice to the general educational programs of the Association and infrequently, the reading and evaluation of manuscripts considered by the Association for publication. It is requested that permission be granted to Dr. Elliott to accept this appointment.
It was moved by Regent Elliott, seconded by Regent Swanson, motion put to vote and carried, directing that approval be granted to Prof. C. M. Elliott to accept the appointment to serve as educational advisor to the National Association of Insurance Agents.

Memorandum of Agreement with Bernic Slote for publication of book
authorized to sign in behalf of the Board, a Memorandum of Agreement with the author Bernice Slote, for the publication by the University of Nebraska Press of the book entitled "Keats and The Dramatic Principle."
It was moved by Regent Foote, seconded by Regent Elliott, that the various grants of funds as reported under date of March 20 by the Dean of the Graduate College be accepted. Motion put to vote and carried.

Authorize demolition of Pharmacy Building and Temporary K
From the office of the Business Manager, Mr. Carl A. Donaldson, comes a recommendation that authority be granted to demolish the Pharmacy Building following removal of the Department of Pharmacy from the Building, and the demolition of Temporary K, a frame building located east of Bancroft Hall. Both buildings are of no further use to the University program. It should be noted that the Pharmacy Building, one of the oldest buildings on the campus, has been condemned by the State Fire Marshal and has been permitted to remain in use pending completion of the new Pharmacy Building, Lyman Hall.
It was moved by Regent Greenberg, seconded by Regent Swanson, that the Business Manager, Mr. Carl A. Donaldson, be authorized to have the old Pharmacy Building and Temporary K demolished and the materials removed from the campus. Motion put to vote and carried.
From the Business Manager, Mr. Carl A. Donaldson, comes an itemization of bids received for the expansion of the boiler plant at the College of Medicine at an estimated cost of $121,000, which work is to be financed by Hill-Burton Federal funds, grant having been made by the Nebraska Hospital Board for this work. A summary of the bids received is as follows:

Accept low bid
It was moved by Regent Swanson, seconded by Regent Elliott, motion put to vote and carried, directing that the low bid of Natkin & Co., Omaha, Nebraska, in the amount of $109,759 be accepted for the work required in the Boiler Plant Expansion at the College of Medicine.
Authorize flight training for Army ROTC program
It was moved by Regent Foote, seconded by Regent Swanson, motion put to vote and carried, directing that the contract with the U. S. Army for flight training of selected candidates in the University of Nebraska Army ROTC program, similar to that presently conducted by the Air Force ROTC, be approved and that the president and corporation secretary of the Board of Regents be authorized to sign this contract in behalf of the Board.
Authorize deed of 33 feet of land to City in accordance with previous agreement
From the City Engineer of the City of Lincoln, Mr. Carl L. Fisher, comes a request that the Board of Regents deed to the City a certain strip of land being the East 33.20 feet of Lot 1, Block 1 of the Original Plat of Lincoln, in the Southeast Quarter of Section 23, Township 10 North, Range 6 East of the 6th Principal Meridian, in accordance with previous agreement between the Board and the City of Lincoln, in relocating North 14th treet between "U" and Vine Streets.
At the University's request the City relocated 14th Street at this point in order to create sufficient ground site on the east side of 14th Street for the erection of Lyman Hall at 14th and Vine. The University is deeding to the City of Lincoln, a piece of land of equal size on the west side of 14th Street.
It was moved by Regent Swanson, seconded by Regent Greenberg, motion put to vote and carrried, that the president and corporation secretary of the Board of Regents be authorized to sign Deed to the City of Lincoln, in behalf of the Board, conveying the East 33.20 feet of Lot 1, Block 1 of the Original Plat of Lincoln.
Joint Policy Board recommend name of "The Childrens Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska"
From the Joint Policy Board, consisting of representatives of the Board of Regents, The Board of Education of the School District of Omaha, The Hattie B. Munroe Home for Convalescing Children, the Children's Memorial Hospital, and Rehabilitation, Inc. at the University Medical Center, come s a recommendation that each of the agencies appoint two representatives of their organization to comprise the membership of a Joint Administrative Board, and the further recommendation by the Joint Policy Board that the official designation for the buildings presently under construction in what has been commonly known as the Rehabilitation Center shall be officially known as "The Childrens Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska."
