221Special Meeting It was moved by Regent Welsh, seconded by Regent Foote, motion put to vote and carried, directing that a $10.00 fee be charged to all non-resident undergraduate applicants who apply for admission to the University of Nebraska, effective immediately. This fee shall be non-refundable but will apply toward payment of fees and tuition should the applicant matriculate at the University of Nebraska. Approve consultant work for Dr. Bernard Harris It was moved by Regent Greenberg, seconded by Regent Adkins, motion put to vote and carried, directing that the request of Dr. Bernard Harris as transmitted by Dean Walter E. Militzer, be approved wherein Dr. Harris may serve as consultant to the Agricultural Research Service of the United States Government. It is understood that not more than two or three hours per week is involved in this request. Authorize deed for Loomis Hall It was moved by Regent Greenberg, seconded by Regent Welsh, motion put to vote and carried, that the Vice President of the Board of Regents, Mr. J. G. Elliott and the Corporation Secretary of the Board of Regents, Mr. John K. Selleck, be authorized to sign in behalf of the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska, a deed conveying Lot Forty-four (44) and the South Half of Lot Forty-Five (45), University Park Addition to Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska, a residence at 1411 No. 37th Street known as Loomis Hall, to the Blue-Joynt Realty, Inc. at a sale price of $7,000.00. The faculties of the several colleges of the University having submitted their recommendations of candidates as required by law, it was moved by Regent Welsh, seconded by Regent Adkins, motion put to vote and carried, that degrees be granted and certificates of completion of requirements in special courses be issued, all as shown in the several lists immediately following. It is hereby ordered that degrees in courses and certificates of proficiency in special subjects as recommended by the several college faculties aforesaid and as described below be and the same are hereby granted to the persons named respectively therefor; that diplomas and certificates in the usual form bearing the date of January 31, 1959, be prepared and authenticated in the usual manner and be publicly awarded by the Chancellor of the University to said candidates according to the custom of the University.
