On motion the report of the committee was received and adopted and the several bills allowed and ordered paid.

Chancellor to Provide Orator

Regent Burnham moved that the Chancellor be authorized to invite Bishop Worthington to deliver the annual University Address in June next, and in case he cannot be secured that the Chancellor be authorized to procure some other suitable eprson, which motion prevailed.

$250.00 for Botanical Garden &C. (Bessey.)
On motion the following resolution was adopted:
Resolved that the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars be and the same is hereby appropriated, out of any money now in the custody of the state treasurer belonging to the regents fund, and in the general account thereof, the same to be drawn by Prof. Bessey Dean of the Industrial College, for work and amterials on a botanical garden for said college.

On motion teh following resolution was adopted:
Resolved: that there be appropriated out of any funds available, the following sums viz:

Meteorological Observations $500.00
Percolation of Water (Soils) $500.00
Observations Soil Temperature $100.00

Forage Garden (All Temp. Climates) $100.00
Collection of Woods $500.00
