Lincoln, Neb. December 15th., 1884
The board of regents of the University of Nebraska, met at the chancellor's office in the university building, at 2 o'clock p.m. in regular session, pursuant to the provision of the by-laws.
Present: Regents Gere, Burnham, Hiatt, Hull and Mallalieu, absent regent E. P. Holmes.
The minutes of the last proceeding meeting were read and approved.

Secretary's Report, Townley's Report, Claims &c. Referred

The secretary read his report of certificates drawn upon the university fund since the last meeting, and presented accompanying vouchers: bills filled for audit at the present session: also a report of the military panying claim for expenses of the department: also a bill presented by the hesperian student printing company, all of which were received and referred to the finance committee.
A communication was read by the secretary from the registar, Miss Smith, and referred to the chancellor.

Bond of Secretary Approved and Filed

The official bond of the secretary elect J. S. Dales, ws presented, approved by the president of the board and ordered filed.

Communications Referred.

The secretary read communications from he medical feaculty, relating to the instruction in the chair of surgery, salaries &c. Also communications from doctors Wayman and Lowery, relating to the medical department all of which were received and referred to the committee on course of study.
The secretary read a report from Lieut. E. S. Dudley, relating to the arms &c. for the use of the military department, which was received and referred to the finance committee.
The secretary read reports presented of the work for the past year in various departments, which were received and ordeed filed: these being in connection with the chancellor's report.

Communications from Mencer & Col. Med. Association Referred

The secretary also read a communication from Dr. Mencer relating to instruction in clinical surgery, also a communication from the Eclectic Medical Association, relating to the employment of Dr. E. C. Guild, all of which were received and reffered to the committee on course of study.
